CHARLOTTE, N.C. — American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has postponed its second 24-hour data hackathon, called Reinvent the Wheel 2.0, to a later date because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The event, scheduled for March 20-21 at Norfolk Hall in Charlotte, challenges 20 teams of college students, young professionals, established data scientists and experienced developers from across the U.S. to solve a "real-world problem," using data science to find an actionable solution.
The inaugural event was held last year.
The solution focuses on sustainability and how to reduce CO2 emissions within the automotive industry. The winning teams were to receive a $5,000 cash prize, trophies and other prizes.
