DULUTH, Ga. — AGCO Corp., producer of Challenger, Fendt, GSI, Massey Ferguson and Valtra brand agricultural equipment, recently honored Alliance Tire Group Ltd. (ATG) as a North American Direct Materials Supplier of the Year.
AGCO recognized ATG for performance in cost, collaboration, innovation, account management, coordination and flexibility, according to the Yokohama Rubber Corp. Ltd. subsidiary.
"AGCO relies on the capabilities of many suppliers to deliver the most reliable and effective agricultural solutions to dealers and growers around the globe," John Shouse V, strategic commodity manager, axles, tracks, tires and wheels for AGCO, said.
The awards were presented recently in a virtual ceremony from AGCO's Duluth headquarters.
AGCO officials noted that Alliance — the only tire supplier recognized this year — exhibited strong coordination and alignment with AGCO and improved factory efficiency.
Mr. Shouse pointed out that AGCO enlisted ATD's help in sourcing tires for its Fendt Momentum planter, a product he described as "high-tech solution in the company's bold mission to feed the world."
In response to AGCO's appeal, Mr. Shouse said ATG delivered a range of VF, or "'very high-flexion" tires that, when used in conjunction with the Momentum's Load-Logic system, allows the planter to exert less pressure on the soil, which helps deliver higher yields to growers.
"As our 2020 Direct Materials Supplier of the Year, ATG's outstanding products and cooperation have helped AGCO offer innovative solutions that stand far about those of the rest of the industry," Mr. Shouse said.
Domenic Mazzola, vice president of engineering and OE sales for Alliance Tire Americas, said collaborating with customers is a cornerstone of the tire manufacturer's business approach.
"We are honored to be recognized for our commitment with AGCO to help them achieve their objectives at every level, from product development to procurement and manufacturing," Mr. Mazzola said.
