ORLANDO, Fla. — Action Gator Tire is expanding its footprint in the Orlando area, opening retail tire stores in two neighboring communities and disclosing plans for two additional stores to open later this year.
The new stores, in Clermont and Davenport, expand Action Gator Tire's network of retail stores to 19 locations. The Clermont store replaces an older location, while the Davenport store is in that community's Reunion neighborhood, a rapidly growing community a few miles south of Walt Disney World theme park.
"[Davenport] is experiencing rapid growth, and we have the opportunity to provide affordable tires and quality automotive service to the community," Freddy Christensen, vice president and COO of Orlando-based Action Gator Tire, said.
"With close proximity to Walt Disney World theme park, tourists will also be able to enjoy quality car care allowing them to focus on their vacation and not on car troubles."
Action Gator Tire did not disclose the stores' size, expected employment or investment. Most Action Gator stores have 10 service bays, according to photos posted on the dealership's social media sites.
The Clermont store, on State Route 27 south of downtown Clermont, replaces a store Action Gator had operated nearby. Clermont is a city of 28,000 about 25 miles west of Orlando.
The family-owned dealership has plans to open a retail store in Lake Nona, a southeast Orlando district, and a commercial store in Clermont later this year. The latter will be Action Gator's fourth commercial location.
In total, Action Gator has 24 locations throughout central Florida: 19 retail, four commercial and the headquarters/wholesale warehouse.
The new stores are in addition to a pair of locations added in 2020, in Winter Garden in late October and in Oxford/The Villages earlier. Winter Garden is a city of 43,000 about 14 miles west of downtown Orlando.
