STAUNTON, Va. — The Auto Care Association (ACA) has awarded Bo Fisher, chairman and CEO of Fisher Auto Parts, with the Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award.
The Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award is annually presented to an individual who demonstrates a passion for advancing the concepts and programs for education and continuing education in the North American auto care industry.The award was announced during the association's Fall Leadership Days in September.
For decades, Mr. Fisher continued and expanded his father Art Fisher's focus on education. His father was a long-time proponent of education and training in the aftermarket.
The annual Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship program was established in his memory, awarding scholarships to students enrolled in the automotive aftermarket management program at Northwood University.
Fisher Auto Parts also provides 25 scholarships yearly to support students pursuing careers in the aftermarket and sponsors the annual KOI/ Fisher Training Cavalcade in Cincinnati.
Mr. Fisher serves as chairman of the board of Federated Auto Parts and co-chairman of the Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group), which offers its members and their customers The Group Training Academy, an online training platform designed for professional technicians, shop owners and managers.
