BETHESDA, Md. — The Auto Care Association and Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association, in partnership with S&P Global Mobility, will host a webinar June 9 covering growth expectations for the automotive aftermarket in a post-pandemic world.
The webinar's featured speaker will be Shane Norton, senior principal, economics and country risk, S&P Global Mobility (formerly IHS Markit), who will examine the factors that shaped the market in 2021 and how they will affect 2022 and the next several years.
The session, scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EDT, will include insights on the continuing rebound from the early days of the pandemic as well as a forecast that takes into account the effects of supply-chain issues, inflation and workforce shortages.
The webinar, free but restricted to ACA and AASA members, will include a live growth forecast and a members-only question-and-answer session to provide attendees with additional insights and perspectives.
The data presented eventually will be released to the public on the AASA's website and in the 2022 Auto Care Factbook.
In his role with S&P Global Mobility, Norton is responsible for managing consulting engagements across a variety of industries, utilizing economic impact analysis, econometric forecasting, market sizing, and market analysis. He has been with IHS Markit and preceding companies since 2001, working within the automotive markets division prior to moving to the ECR team.
The webinar continues an initiative by the ACA and AASA — now in its 20th year — to combine efforts to produce the Joint Channel Forecast Model, a single industry view of the size, growth rate and outlook for the automotive aftermarket.
