FRISCO, Texas — Off-road and 4x4 products retailer 4 Wheel Parts will open its 100th retail store in the U.S. — a former Sears Auto Center in Frisco — on Dec. 4.

The Compton, Calif.-based retailer will hold a grand-opening event on that day featuring a large display of industry brands, day-long entertainment and merchandise giveaways totaling over $20,000, including $100 gift cards to the first 50 customers to attend and additional special prize drawings throughout the day.

Entertainment will include Diesel Dave and Heavy D from the Discovery TV show, Diesel Brothers, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Local elected officials are also expected to put in appearances.

"With the recent interest in off-roading, our 100th store marks another point in the growth curve of the overall industry," Evan Keller, COO of 4 Wheel Parts, said.

"With more and more people opting outside, off-roading has really taken off and we see our customer base wanting to customize their vehicle for their specific needs,"

The store in Frisco, a city of over 175,000 resident north of Dallas, is 4WP's 15th retail outlet in Texas.

4WP has opened three other stores in the past couple of months, in Fort Myers, Fla.; Greenville, S.C., and Gilbert, Ariz.

The store in Forth Myers, a converted retail space on Florida Highway 41 on the south side of Fort Myers, is the company's eighth retail location in Florida.

The Greenville store, which opened Sept. 25, is a renovated 9,800-sq.-ft. retail space in eastern Greenville, located near the intersection of Interstates 85 and 385 and about five miles from the headquarters of Michelin North America Inc.

It is 4WP's second outlet in South Carolina; the other is in Charleston.

In Arizona, 4WP took over and renovated a facility that formerly housed a CVS Pharmacy in central Gilbert, a city of over 240,000 residents located about 20 miles southeast of Phoenix. The new store there is 4WP's fourth in Arizona.

The company, a business unit of Polaris Industries Inc., also has seven stores in Canada and an active on-line sales presence via 4wheelparts.com and 4wd.com.

Among the 500-plus aftermarket auto brands offered are BFGoodrich-, Dick Cepek-, Falken-, General-, Goodyear-, Ironman-, Maxxis-, Michelin-, Mickey Thompson-, Nitto-, ProComp, 4WP-, Toyo- and Yokohama-branded tires, custom wheels and tire/wheel accessories.
