Sentury Tire USA said its new Delinte and Landsail CUV products have been popular in a popular segment, but the real highlights of 2023 have yet to come.

"2023 will see a Phase 2 roll-out of our TBR brands and product offerings," said Nicholas Gutierrez, territory sales and marketing director at Sentury Tire USA.

Gutierrez filled us in on the latest with the company in our Mid-Year Q&A.

How would you describe business thus far in 2023?

Allocation is a significant factor for our brands, along with our warehouses that are always stocked with multiple segments of OE and specialty sizes. Sentury's more recent launch of its TBR (truck/bus radial) segment has also played a large role in a strong 2023. The larger flotation sizes have been slightly sluggish, primarily due to the aftermarket wheel industry.

Do you anticipate price increases this year?

Sentury stays competitive the moment anything fluctuates in terms of pricing. As always, we work closely with our partners in the event of any price increases. Our goal is always to remain competitive, and we value our relationships with our partners.

How have customers reacted to the release of the new Landsail and Delinte SUV/CUV lines?

The Delinte Bandit Crossover and the Landsail Stormblazer releases have been highly successful. The response we have received in both B2B and B2C signals we are on the right track. The fact that this is a newly tapped market segment for Sentury excites us the most.

Do you expect any size expansions in the near term for those lines?

Currently, we offer 70-plus sizes in each brand. Within all of our brands we are always listening to our partners and paying close attention to their needs.

How is the TBR business? Where do you see it headed in the months ahead?

Sentury Tire USA has seen noted growth with the release of our TBR products, which was long-awaited by many of our partners. 2023 will see a Phase 2 roll-out of our TBR brands and product offerings.

What are some of the pleasant surprises you are seeing in the industry?

We are excited to see our partners thriving and focused on the quality of the products they buy instead of the flavor of the month.

What kind of trends are you seeing in the marketplace?

We are excited about the EV market, the CUV market and the growing OE market. We have teams in place to gather information to ensure we have the best sizes available through our brands.

What sectors offer the most growth potential? How have you addressed that?

For Sentury Tire USA, the sectors that offer the most growth potential would be TBR.

Do you expect to roll out any additional products in 2023?

Delinte has three new products that we are excited to release. The DST1 is our new UHP pattern, DST2 is our newest SUV/CUV pattern and both come with a 50,000-mile warranty. The DS2 is a high-performance powerline with a 55,000-mile warranty. Also, in the fourth quarter Delinte will be introducing its new TBR line.

Sustainability continues to be a huge industry topic. What is the most compelling initiative/product that your company has or is taking to address sustainability?

Sentury Tire USA's Core Value #4: We Are Sustainability Minded. We respect that our products begin with nature and are committed to using the best, sustainable practices in our business model. We stand by our commitment to the environment and develop all our products in light of this core value.

Do you expect any other major investments in the next six months or year?

Sentury has recently announced the construction of two new factories. First in Morocco and second in Spain. Both factories will ensure our expansion goals in capacity.

What are some of the challenges for the industry going forward?

A significant challenge going forward could be who you buy your tires from. If you buy directly from a factory, you will see fewer challenges; buying from a broker has the potential for more challenges.

What do you want tire dealers to know about the company and what's happening at this point?

Sentury Tire is here to stay and fully committed to our core values: quality, technology, innovation, sustainability, relationships and optimization.

What other topics do you think are important for our audience to know?

At Sentury Tire USA we are focused on quality, commitment and building strong relationships with our partners.

In 2022, we launched Access 360, our on-demand customer portal, which streamlines the ordering process and gives real-time updates on where orders are "on-the-water" as one of its key features.
