Yokohama's Geolandar selected as OE on Lexus GX SUV

HIRATSUKA, Japan — Toyota Motor Corp. has selected a 20-inch version of the Geolandar X-CV as an original equipment fitmetn on certain models of the 2024 Lexus GX 550 SUV.

The tire sizes are 265/55R20 113V in North America and 265/55R20 109V in Japan, according to Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. The 2024 GX 550, a four-door, seven-passenger SUV, was launched in North America in April 2024.

The GX550 is powered by a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque mated with a 10-speed transmission. Towing capacity is listed as 7,600 to 9,063 pounts, depending on trim level.

Yokohama said it developed the Geolander X-CV for improved high-speed performance and maneuverability. The tire was engineered to meet the high-performance standards of the new GX 550, the tire maker said.

The tire offers increased rolling resistance, outstanding steering stability and comfort and is reliable in the harsh environments, according to Yokohama.
