Yokohama is again expanding the scope of its Geolandar pickup/SUV tire line with the launch of the all-season Geolandar CV/4S designed for CUVs.

HIRATSUKA, Japan — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. (YRC) is expanding the scope of its Geolandar pickup/SUV tire line again with the launch of the all-season Geolandar CV/4S designed for crossover vehicles (CUVs).

The new product, set to debut this fall in North America, Europe and South Korea, will launch in 32 sizes, ranging from 235/65R17 108V to 245/45R20 103V, YRC said, and carrying the industry's Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol (3PMS) signifying severe snow traction.

    Pricing information was not disclosed.

The new Geolandar iteration features a newly developed asymmetric tread pattern and compound that YRC said contributes to the tire's performance in wet conditions and on snow, as well as on dry roads. All 32 sizes are marked with the M+S (mud and snow) designation, indicating they can deliver traction in a sudden snowfall, in addition to the 3PMS.

The new Geolandar iteration features a newly developed asymmetric tread pattern and compound.

The new product is the third tire in the Geolandar line designed for CUVs. The others — Geolandar CV and Geolandar X-CV — will continue to be sold alongside the new version, according to Yokohama Tire Corp.

The CV/4S is being produced at YRC's plant in the Philippines.

The new product complements a number of other Geolandar products already on the road, YRC said, including the Geolandar CV G058, a grand-touring tire for crossover SUVs; Geolandar X-CV for high-performance crossover SUVs; and the Geolandar H/T G056 for midsize and large SUVs.

The company also added an LT-designated "work truck" version earlier this year of the Geolandar A/T XD, engineered for full-size pickup trucks and commercial vans.
