SANTA ANA, Calif. — Yokohama Tire Corp. is rolling out a trio of truck tires — a pair of all-position models and one for urban pick-up/delivery — at this year's Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Show in Atlanta, Feb. 24-26

The new tires set to debut are the all-position 504C and 115R and the urban pick-up/delivery 714R. Yokohama also plans to expand the size range of the 715R open-shoulder regional drive tire and the 114R regional haul ultra-wide-base trailer tire.

The 504C, which replaces the MY507, is an all-position radial with a sturdy undertread, engineered to handle the punishment of on-and-off-highway applications, YTC said.

"Its improved retreadability and longer overall casing life make it the perfect performer for jobs that go beyond where the pavement ends," Tom Clauer, Yokohama's senior manager of commercial and OTR product planning, said.

The 504C, which is produced at YTC's plant in West Point, Miss., will be available in May in sizes 11R22.5 (H) and 11R24.5 (H).

The 714R is designed for pickup-and-delivery fleets with features such as durable construction and "outstanding" fuel efficiency, YTC said. Among its features are wide shoulder grooves, which provide improved wet and snow traction.

It will be available this summer in sizes 225/70R19.5 (14) and 245/70R19.5 (16).

Also debuting this summer is the 115R, an all-season/all-position tire built to provide class 4 and 5 vehicles with year-round traction and dependability, YTC said. It's engineered with a heat-resistant compound for better fuel efficiency and longer lasting tread and carries an N speed rating (87 mph).

The 115R will be initially be available in one size, 225/70R19.5 (14).

At the same time, YTC is adding three sizes — 295/75R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5 — to the 715R, a SmartWay-verified open-shoulder regional drive tire. Also produced in West Point, the tires is available in size 11R22.5.

The company also is adding size 455/50R22.5 this spring to the 114R UWB, a SmartWay-verified, a fuel-efficient, long-lasting regional haul ultra-wide-base trailer tire. It's already available in size 445/50R/22.5.
