RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Toyota Motor Co. has selected a 20-inch version of the Falken Wildpeak A/T3WA all-terrain tire as an OE fitment on the TRD Off-Road model of the 2024 Sequoia SUV.
The 2024 Sequoia is powered by a twin-turbo V6 hybrid, rated at 437 hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque, mated with a 10-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. The TRD Off-Road package comes with a selectable locking rear differential and a multi-terrain select feature that assists the vehicle in controlling wheel spin.
The TRD Pro versions also are equipped with an off-roading-prepped suspension modifications and front stabilizer bar and other distinct styling features.
Toyota is spec'ing the Wildpeak A/T3WA in size 265/60R20 for the Sequoia TRD, the same size as that spec'd on the Toyota Tundra TRD Off-Road pickup truck.
"This Falken Wildpeak A/T3WA was chosen for its 20-inch size offering and off-road capabilities, critical requirements for Toyota's TRD models," Cliff Stewart, Falken director of original equipment sales, said.
"We are very proud to have earned another OE fitment with Toyota, and are excited to continue building our relationship with them."
The Wildpeak A/T3WA is designed for all-terrain, all-weather ability, according to Sumitomo Rubber North America, owner of the Falken brand. It features an "optimized" tread design that incorporates full-depth sipes and grooves for consistent performance and appearance throughout its life.
The tire also incorporates a silica-based tread compound that helps it perform in three areas – wear, winter and wet performance.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. produces the tire at its plant in Miyazaki, Japan.
