COSTA MESA, Calif. — Toyota Motor Corp. has selected an 18-inch rim-diameter version of the Toyo Open Country A/T III tire to be an original equipment fitment on certain models of the 2024 Lexus FX 550 SUV.
Both the Overtrail and Overtrail+ models of the five-passsenger SUV will feature the Open Country A/T III in size 265/70R18, emphasizing the off-road readiness of the vehicle, Toyo Tire USA Inc. said.
The four-door Lexus GX 550 features a newly developed double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, a 10-speed direct shift automatic transmission and a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 479 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Open Country A/T III all-terrain tire combines gripping off-road traction with responsive and predictable on-road handling.The tire also offers a quiet ride with exceptional stability, "instilling driving confidence no matter the terrain," Toyo said.
Toyo's full Open Country A/T III line-up includes more than 150 fitments, ranging from OE replacement to flotation sizes.
