RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Suburu Corp. has selected Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd.'s (SRI) Falken Ziex ZE001A all-season tire as an original equipment fitment on the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.

The tire, in size 225/55R18 98V will manufactured at SRI's Thailand plant. From there, SRI said the tires will be delivered to Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. (SIA), which will produce sport and limited trim levels of the Crosstrek, alongside other Subaru models.

The production of the vehicles begin this month, with models reaching reaching Subaru retailers in June.

According to SRI, the four-door, five-passenger hatchback Crosstrek has 8.7 inches of ground clearance and standard Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive. Both trim levels come standard with Subaru's 2.5-liter boxer engine for increased horsepower and acceleration.

Subaru said the Crosstrek offers up to 34 MPG and up to 560 miles of driving range.

Cliff Stewart, Falken's director, original equipment sales, said the car company continues to make outstanding vehicles.

"There's a lot of excitement around the launch of the 2024 Crosstrek, and rightfully so," Stewart said. "We believe the all-new Crosstrek and its all-road capability will be a great match to our Falken Ziex ZE001A all-season tire."

The Falken ZIEX ZE001A all-season tire features four circumferential grooves that effectively evacuate water and significantly enhance hydroplane resistance and stability in wet conditions, the company said.

In addition, chamfered tread block corners support even wear throughout the tire's life, and a solid center rib directs excellent handling response.

The new contract follows one Subaru had with SRI since 2018 on the hybrid version of the Crosstrek, again with the Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S.
