FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Ralson Tire North America has introduced a tire developed for spread-axle trailer use, the Ralson RTR71, for the U.S. market.
The RTR71 features a "robust" casing designed to resist cuts and chips, the company said.
Other features include:
- 16/32nds-inch of tread depth to handle high-scrub and severe-torque conditions;
- Corrugated cooling fins for heat dissipation for increased casing life;
- A chamfered solid shoulder counters lateral forces in high-scrub applications for even shoulder wear;
- A balanced rib ratio that distributes pressure for high-mileage and drive comfort; and.
- A wide four-belt package provides uniform ground for impact absorption and casing retreadability.
The RTR71, which is backed by a seven-year/three-retread warranty, is initially available in sizes 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5. Pricing information was not disclosed.
The tires are produced by Ralson India Ltd. at its plant in Indore, India.
