DAYTON, Tenn. — Nokian Tyres P.L.C. is helping to educate consumers about how tires can help the safety, performance, efficiency and comfort of electric and plug-in vehicles.
The initiative is in conjunction with National Drive Electric Week, which runs through Oct. 6. That initiative is the brainchild of Plug In America, Electric Auto Association, EVHybridNoire, Drive Electric USA and Sierra Club to awareness of the benefits of electric and plug-in vehicles.
Hans Dyhrman, Nokian Tyres North America's director of marketing, said the tire maker wants to help EV drivers use the right tires for their vehicles "for their unique needs.
"While many EV consumers are knowledgeable about their vehicles, it's also vital to understand how the right tires can help keep them safe, perform well and maintain excellent range."
Nokian is partnering with Plug In America for content that emphasizes the importance of WNTR — weight, noise, temperature and range — in their tire purchases this fall. Nokian also is sharing information on its social media channels : @NokianTyresNA on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Threads.
"Having high-performing tires can enhance the EV driving experience, and Nokian Tyres products are one of drivers' favorites," Plug In America Executive Director Joel Levin said.
EV tires must accommodate heavier, quieter vehicles than internal-combustion-engine vehicles, Nokian said.
