STOW, Ohio — Mickey Thompson Tires has expanded the range of sizes for its Baja Boss M/T line of off-road tires with the 42X13.50R17LT size, engineered for the popular 17x9-inch wheel fitment.
The new 42-inch outside-diameter tire offers enhanced under-axle clearance, while the 13.5-inch width provides a narrower track width, ideal for maneuvering through rugged terrain, the company said.
The Baja Boss M/T new size offers:
- Substantial sidewall height for flexibility and grip, especially during off-road scenarios when the tire is deflated. The extended SideBiters deliver additional biting edges for improved traction, the company said.
- The PowerPly XD 3-Ply construction offers heightened puncture resistance and durability. Its bias-angle-ply design distributes impact load across a broader area of underlying radial plies for quicker steering response and increased stability both on and off the road.
Mickey Thompson — a Goodyear subsidiary — launched the M/T version of the Baja Boss in early 2022. The M/T version is now available in 36 sizes covering 15- to 22-inch rim diameters.
