MIAMI — Goodyear's Mickey Thompson and Tire Group International's (TGI) Cosmo Tires were the official tires of the Ruta Coyote, an off-road event held for more than a decade in Costa Rica.
The event draws more than 1,500 participants and more than 500 vehicles from across Latin America, according to Cosmo Tires.
TGI CEO Tony Gonzalez called the sponsorship "an honor" as the official distributor of Mickey Thompson tires in Latin America and exclusive distributor of the Cosmo brand.
"Costa Rica's breathtaking landscapes and rugged terrain provide an ideal proving ground for our high-performance tires, highlighting their resilience and durability," Gonzalez said.
Ernie Rodriguez, vice president of sales at TGI, said Mickey Thompson and Cosmo partners from around the world, including Peru, the U.S., Mexico and Guatemala, "to navigate the demanding rainforest course. With its overflowing rivers, steep mountains and dense foliage, the terrain pushed our products to the limit."
