    The BFGoodrich Implement Control is designed for pull-behind farming implements and tillage applications to handle heavy loads.

    GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin North America is re-introducing the BFGoodrich brand to the U.S. farm tire market with the launch of the BFGoodrich Implement Control, touted as a long-wearing, IF implement tire.

    The tire, made at Michelin's Fort Wayne, Ind., factory, is designed for pull-behind farming implements and tillage applications to handle heavy loads.

    "BFGoodrich, one of the original U.S. tire brands, has 115 years of proven performance in North America," David Graden, agriculture operational marketing manager for Michelin, said.

    "We are now adding farm tires to the portfolio with technology that will protect crops and the bottom line."

    The BFGoodrich ag tire line is expected to complement the Michelin ag portfolio and fill in gaps in the tire maker's ag tire offering, he said.

    Later this year, the company plans to expand the brand's offering for farm implements and small-horsepower equipment, he added.

    The BFGoodrich Implement Control is a low-pressure, high-flexion IF tire designed to carry 20% more weight at the same pressure as a standard radial tire.

    The tire also features:

    • a mud-terrain casing that allows the tire to withstand rough impacts and endure a high load capacity;
    • a high-performing tread pattern that uses innovative rubber compounds to protect against stubble wear and tear;
    • a large footprint that reduces soil compaction and increases yield; and
    • a flexible sidewall that allows for optimized performance for traction in the field and long wear on the road.

    The BFGoodrich Implement Control tire is designed to work with central tire inflation systems and is available in sizes IF 320/70R15 and IF 280/70R15.
