REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Kenda Tire USA Inc.-sponsored professional drift car racer Fielding Shredder has been selected to participate the a reality television show, "Hyperdrive," where contestants compete against one another in a series of high-stakes races.
The show's executive producer is Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron.
The show features 28 competitors from all across the world. Online media service and broadcast provider Netflix rented a small city industrial complex in Rochester, N.Y., as the set for racers to drift through.
"We look forward to continuing to see Fielding achieve great success and be a loyal brand advocate of Kenda Tires," Kenda Tires USA CEO and president Jimmy Yang said. "He is a part of our Kenda family."
Prior to the races, no practice was allowed on the course. Mr. Shredder ran Kenda Kaiser KR20A DOT tires in size 235/40R18 on the front and 265/35R18 on the rear, and his car featured the Kenda Tires logo on the driver side .
Mr. Shredder called the event "the most challenging driving event in my entire life.
"I couldn't have done it without Kenda Tires continued support. This is the Super Bowl of car control, and I was loving every minute."
"Hyperdrive" premieres on Neflext on Aug. 21st at midnight.
