COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Global Rubber Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. has unveiled its most sustainable line of tires.
The specialy-tire maker has released a line of agricultural tires, the Green XLR Earth series, which is made of 87.3% of sustainable material, and a line of material handling tires, the Ultimate Green XT, which is made with 93.5% sustainable material.
GRI said the tires represent GRI's visition of "making a positive impact on our planet and dedication to reducing its environmental footprint while delivering high-performance specialty tire solutions."
GRI said it is leveraging technology and advanced natural rubber compounds to manufacture a sustainable product across its entire value chain.
GRI launched the tires during its Green Impact Summit, held recently in Colombo.
Bureau Veritas, a global business-to-business service provider that tests, inspects and validates the products, certified the tires for reducing carbon footprint.
"This certification underscores GRI's unwavering dedication to sustainability in tires and quality of product," GRI CEO Mahesha Ranasoma said.
GRI Managing Director Prabhash Subasinghe said the green tires "are more than just products; they are symbols of our unwavering dedication to sustainability. With the highest percentage of sustainable materials, these agriculture and material handling tires represent a beacon of hope for a greener tomorrow. From its conception to its production, every aspect has been meticulously crafted to minimize environmental impact without compromising on performance."
