AKRON — Goodyear has unveiled its latest mud-terrain tire, the Wrangler Boulder MT, which the company said was built to withstand difficult terrain including mud, sand and rocks.
The tire will fit a range of SUVs and pick-up trucks, including the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford Bronco, Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Tacoma. It is available currently in 17 sizes, Goodyear said, covering outside tire diameters from 31 to 37 inches.
The attributes of the tire include:
- "Aggressive" shoulder design, featuring large upper sidewall features for curb appeal and enhanced grip in mud and rocks;
- TractiveGroove technology in the large tread block design, engineered to keep the tires moving through mud, sand and rocky terrains;
- Large void tread design with built-in stone ejectors; and
- Three-ply Duraply technology that can handle difficult terrains, while protecting against damage to sidewalls and treads.
Michiel Kramer, director of product marketing for Goodyear, said rugged terrain demands a tough tire that doesn't sacrifice "handling or performance. We engineered the Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT to deliver the long-lasting performance and versatility that off-road enthusiasts need, enabling them to handle whatever adventures come their way."
