Goodyear unveils two all-season Kelly products

AKRON — Goodyear is adding two all-season products to its Kelly Tire line: The Kelly Edge Touring A/S and the Kelly Edge Sport.

The Akron-based tire maker said both products deliver all-around performance at a sensible price for every day driving. The tires cover more than 75 of the most popular sizes, for all major vehicle makes and models.

Both are made with what the company calls "an innovate tread design" and offer features and compounds that offer security and performance for consumers.

Michiel Kramer, director, product marketing, Goodyear consumer, North America said the tires "provide everyday drivers with products designed with their driving needs in mind. Whether you need stability or responsive, agile performance, these new Kelly tires will deliver for you and your daily driving needs."

The Kelly Edge Touring A/S attributes include:

• Biting tread block edges designed to provide all-season traction in wet, dry and snowy conditions;
• Sweeping grooves to evacuate water and slush from the tread for enhanced grip;
• Angled tread blocks to stabilize the tread footprint and promote long treadwear;
• Symmetrical tread pattern to provide smooth handling and ride; and
• Silica tread compound for better treadwear and wet traction.

The attributes of the Kelly Edge Sport include:

• Improved tread compound designed to enable enhanced wet handling and stopping;
• Asymmetric tread design for enhanced all-season handling;
• Sweeping circumferential grooves to enable improved traction; and
• Contoured edges to help reduce road noise and enhance tread life.

Goodyear did not release pricing information.
