AKRON — Goodyear has added a regional haul trailer tire to the Cooper Work Series, desinged to offer greater fuel efficiency and durability in high-scrub and tough driving environments.
The new product, the Cooper Work Series RHT 2, is SmartWay-verified under the Environmental Protection Agency's guidelines and designed to help fleets meet regional haul demands in both tandem- and spread-axle trailer applications. It's made with advanced technology for even treadwear and high scrub resistance.
"Dependability and durability are top-of-mind for fleet operators when choosing a tire that meets the unique demands of regional trailer tire applications," Tom Lippello, senior director, commercial marketing, Goodyear North America, said.
"Fleets can feel confident they can navigate tough roads while delivering efficiency for their business with this new WORK Series trailer tire offering."
The RHT 2 is available in eight sizes — 11.00R22.5, 11.00R24.5, 215/75R17.5, 245/75R17.5, 255/70R22.5,275/70R22.5 and 295/75R22.5 — and in three load ranges and tread depths of up to 18/32nds inch. Pricing was not disclosed.
Goodyear said the tire features:
- Low rolling resistance and high-scrub tread compound to balance performance, improve wear, resist tearing and promote fuel efficiency;
- Four heavy-duty, full-width steel belt construction to promote durability in spread-axle applications while preserving the casing for retreadability;
- Advanced tread features and a shoulder profile that help minimize tearing and chunking in high scrub applications; and
- Wear-square visual indicator to help determine the remaining tread on the tire and assist in detecting wheel alignment issues.
