Goodyear unveils Cooper Discoverer AT tire

AKRON — Goodyear has expanded its Cooper Discoverer portfolio wth the launch of the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT, an all-terrain iteration that carries the industry's Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) designation for winter traction.

According to Goodyear, the tire was engineered to deliver a smooth, quiet ride regardless of terrain, both on and off road. The tire features thick interlocking tread lugs that boost performance in wet and dry conditions. The 3PMS tells consumers the tire provides traction and stability in winter weather conditions.

Michiel Kramer, director, product marketing at Goodyear, said the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT "gives drivers the freedom to explore new roads and trails with assurance and confidence — rain, snow or shine — without sacrificing comfort. This tire is built for those who value adventure, versatility and the option to go off the beaten path en route to their destination."

The tire comes with a 65,000-mile limited treadwear warranty. Goodyear said the tire is available in 36 sizes, covering 15- to 22-inch rim diameters, outfitted for a range of SUVs, mid-size and light-duty pickup trucks.

Other benefits of the tire include:

• EnduraGuard Design that provides internal durable construction to help the tire keep its shape when driving over rough surfaces, giving drivers more even wear across the treads;
• Road Glide Technology that improves the fit between the tire and wheel to encourage a smoother, more comfortable ride; and

Goodyear did not disclose pricing nor say where the tire is being produced.
