AKRON — As Goodyear ramps up to celebrate its 125th anniversary this coming August, the company is reaching out to former employees and their families or colleagues for stories about their experiences with the company.
"Our history would not be possible without the dedication and passion of associates around the world — both those who are part of our team now and those who came before us," Goodyear said on a website dedicated to the anniversary.
Those with a story to tell are encouraged to submit it online.
Goodyear has as yet not shared publicly its plans for marking the anniversary, other than to say it is putting together a video documentary of the firm's history that will debut on Aug. 29, the company's official anniversary date.
Goodyear was founded by the Seiberling brothers in 1888 on East Market Street in Akron. Its first products were carriage and bicycle tires, horseshoe pads and rubber sundries.
