AKRON — Goodyear is expanding its Wrangler portfolio again with the launch of the all-season Wrangler Steadfast HT light truck/SUV tire line, which the company is calling its "strongest performing highway tire to date."
Designed with an "innovative" tread and sidewall design for long treadlife and a comfortable ride, the Wrangler Steadfast HT launches in 22 sizes covering 16- to 22-inch rim diameters, suitable for fitment on vehicles like the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Yukon, Lincoln Navigator, Ford F-150 and Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and more.
Backed with a 70,000-mile limited treadwear warranty, the Wrangler Steadfast HT features a long-lasting tread compound and deeper, wider tread grooves for enhanced wet traction and control, Goodyear said.
While the Steadfast HT is new in the Wrangler lineup, Goodyear will be phasing out production of the Wrangler Fortitude HT tire and replacing it with the Steadfast HT and recently introduced Workhorse HT tire line.
The Wrangler Steadfast features a tread area reinforced by a layer of DuPont Kevlar aramid fiber that's designed to provide puncture and heat resistance to help protect against pothole damage and road hazards.
"When engineering the Wrangler Steadfast HT tire, we wanted to introduce a new level of premium to the highway tire category," Michiel Kramer, director of consumer product marketing, said.
"Steadfast stands for 'firm in purpose,'" Kramer said, "and ... built to handle whatever adventure comes their way."
Sizing starts at 265/70R16 112T and runs through 285/45R22, with a UTQG rating of 800 AB.
Manufacturers' suggested retail pricing starts at $190.
In all, Goodyear has 21 versions of the Wrangler line available.
