WASHINGTON — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling 163 Avon Cobra Chrome radial motorcycle tires because of a thin inner liner gauge that may cause tire failure.
The tires were manufactured at Cooper's plant in Melksham, England, between April 8, 2018, and June 1, 2019, Cooper told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The affected tires carry the DOT serial number AT6D28 followed by the manufacturing date code starting with 1418 and running through 2119.
They may have a visual anomaly on the inside inner liner surface, Cooper said. Owners may notice a disturbance in the ride or steering because of the defect.
Cooper said it not aware of any property damage or death or injury claims associated with any of these tires.
Cooper will replace the tires free of charge. Owners may call Cooper customer service at 800-854-6288 or email [email protected], citing recall No. 174.
