WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bridgestone Americas Holdings Inc., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.and Goodyear are scoring high marks for their workplace efforts regarding Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) equality.
Findlay, Ohio-based Cooper received a 100% score in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2020 Corporate Equity Index, while Bridgestone and Goodyear scored 90 each.
"Cooper is committed to creating an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion for our employees and communities," CEO Brad Hughes said. "We believe all employees should feel welcome, respected and valued for who they are."
The index considers a variety of matters in determining corporate scores, including non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, and organizational competency and accountability regarding LGBTQ diversity and inclusion.
Other factors are public commitment to LGBTQ equality and responsible citizenship, the tire maker said.
Other tire companies on the list include Bridgestone Americas Holdings Inc., of Nashville, Tenn., and Akron-based Goodyear. Both scored a 90.
