NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Americas raised more than $2.4 million for the United Way of Greater Nashville in 2023, beating the company's previous record donation of $2.3 million in 2022.
The funds will go toward United Way's network of local organizations providing essential services and programs across middle Tennessee, the company said.
"Bridgestone is committed to supporting the communities where we live, move, work and play," Sara Correa, chief marketing officer, Bridgestone Americas, said. "Our teammates and partners continue to bring our Bridgestone E8 Commitment to life by giving back to those in need across Middle Tennessee. Through their generosity we are demonstrating that we are united by what really matters — creating a more sustainable world for future generations."
Bridgestone has had a nearly 30-year partnership with United Way and has raised more than $12.8 million for the organization since 2015. Bridgestone's 2023 donation comprises of more than $1 million raised through a company giving campaign and nearly $1.4 million raised through its sixth annual Bridgestone United Way Charitable Golf Tournament on Oct. 17.
The tournament, held at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville, is the largest fundraising golf tournament in the country for United Way and has raised more than $5.7 million in its six-year history, Bridgestone said.
"United Way of Greater Nashville is so grateful for all of the support we receive from Bridgestone," Brian Hassett, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Nashville, said. "In addition to the most successful golf tournament in the country, the employees contributed over $1 million. They are our number one contributor, giving close to $2.5 million, and for that we are extremely grateful."
