BFGoodrich launches Elite-Force T/A for law-enforcement fleets

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin North America Inc. has launched a BFGoodrich-branded all-season pursuit tire, the Elite-Force T/A, that it claims "answers the unique demands of law enforcement."

BFGoodrich said it incorporated feedback from law-enforcement agencies in designing the tire.

"The BFGoodrich Elite-Force T/A tire responds to emergencies in any condition, from driving downpours to grinding gravel roads," Kim Kegler, BFGoodrich Tires brand director, said.

"We developed a BFGoodrich tire that can answer any and every call in the most severe conditions."

BFG said the tire has a redesigned tread pattern for increased durability, making it 35% stronger than competing tires. It offers "excellent" wet performance and is "one of the best wet braking pursuit tires among leading competitors. The tire stops up to 21 feet shorter than a leading competitor tire," Goodrich said, without identifying the competing brand.

"Wet-traction handling is the most important to me, especially in high-speed situations," Major Jason Ramey of the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina said.

The dedicated pursuit tire designed for government fleets comes in a comprehensives size offering designed specifically for current law enforcement vehicles, including SUVs.

It comes with either a badge-inspired design on the sidewall or a traditional, undercover sidewall.
