WAKEFIELD, Mass. — ATC Tire Pvt. Ltd. is recalling approximately 1,178 Galaxy DH241-G 16H commercial truck tires produced during 2019 because of a potential manufacturing anomaly that could result in a tread separation.
The tires being recalled were produced at ATC Tires' factory in Dahej, India, between June 22 and Nov. 17, 2019, and are stamped with Department of Transportation (DOT) codes 01C 2519 through 4619. All are size 11R24.5.
ATC said the tires in question were cured in presses with a curing bladder that was "significantly thicker than specification," which reduced the amount of heat energy transferred to the tire, resulting in an insufficient cure.
Alliance Tire Americas Inc. — which imports and distributes the Galaxy brand in the U.S. — is executing this voluntary recall in accordance with the company's commitment to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
ATA said there have been no reports of tire failure. ATA will replace the subject tires at no charge to the customer through an authorized ATA dealer with tires of comparable value and including the cost of mounting and balancing.
