    WASHINGTON — Sentury Tire USA Inc. is recalling 6,188 light truck tires under seven brand names produced by Sentury Tire (Thailand) Co. Ltd. due to a manufacturing issue that could cause sidewall separations.

    The tires, all size LT275/65R20, were produced at Sentury Tire Thailand's factory in Rayong, Thailand, over a nearly two-year period starting in September 2017 and running through June 2019, according to information issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

    The tires being recalled (and the DOT date codes) are:

    • Delinte DX11 (3617 through 2219);
    • Lionhart Lionclaw HT (4617 through 2518);
    • Lexani LXHT206 (4617 through 5018);
    • Patriot HT tires (2518 through 2618);
    • Landsail CLX11 (2917 through 1618);
    • Wild Spirit HST (4617 through 2618); and
    • Pantera Supertrac HT (4717 through 2418).

    The Thai factory's DOT ID code is TB.

    Sentury owns/markets the Delinte, Landsail and Pantera brands itself, while the others are distributed by private brand marketers.

    Due to a manufacturing issue, Sentury said, the sidewall may separate from the tire, a defect that can lead to tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Sentury said it believes the issue is linked to changes in the tires' structural design related to a change to a two-stage manufacturing process in June 2017.

    Sentury Tire said it will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by April 27.

    Owners may contact Sentury Tire at 866-305-2750. The recall number is 2750.

    Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
