WASHINGTON — The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (USDLA) has awarded three-year contracts valued at more than $265 million to Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Michelin North America and Pomp's Tire Service Inc. for the supply of tires to the Department of Defense.
The tires will be used by U.S. military services, including the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps, the USDLA said, without elaborating on the specific type or types of tires to be supplied.
The firm-fixed-price contracts are: $134.9 million for Goodyear; $108.2 million for Michelin; and $23.3 million Pomp's Tire Service Inc.
The deals are three-year contracts with no option periods with a completion deadline of Dec. 10, 2027.
Columbus, Ohio-based Defense Logistics Agency coordinates contracting for the DOD. It awards tire contracts under its Global Tires Program, which it describes a performance-based logistics requirements contract for the total supply-chain management of tires for the DOD's six branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy and Foreign Military Sales.
