Goodyear expands test facility in Texas

Goodyear's San Angelo, Texas, Proving Ground testing facility was established in 1944 and covers 7,250 acres and includes 58 miles of roads and track, 14 miles of fence and more than 200 test vehicles.

Each year, more than 20,000 tires are tested at the facility that is celebrating 75 years.

Goodyear's San Angelo (Texas) Proving Grounds' new vehicle dynamics area is optimized for tire testing in extreme wet conditions.



The Proving Grounds include a 5-mile circle, 8-mile course, gravel road, dirt and mud courses and OTR area.








Goodyear added a second vehicle dynamics area at its proving grounds facility in San Angelo, Texas. It also is building an additional evaluation facility for off-the-road products that will include state-of-the-art equipment for testing the industry's largest earthmover tires.
