NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nokian Tyres Inc. has hired logistics specialist Christy McDaniel to be head of supply chain for the Americas region, a new position created to manage Nokian's logistics, supply-chain planning and customer-service divisions.
The new position is the latest in a series of moves Nokian has made to improve supply to and serve its growing dealer network better throughout North America. The company set a goal in 2018 to double sales in North America by 2023.
Ms. McDaniel moves to Nokian from Danaher Corp., where she held leadership roles for multiple subsidiaries for nearly 12 years.
She also has experience in logistics and supply chain processes across several industries while working for Kimberly-Clark Corp., Pfizer Inc. and BASF Corp.
Norbert Hecking, Nokian global vice president of supply chain, lauded Ms. McDaniel's background in supply chain, saying, "She will help drive supply-chain excellence so we can reach our growth targets."
Mark Earl, Nokian senior vice president, Americas, said, "Christy will help us synchronize and scale our operations" as the tire maker's regional growth plan materializes.
Nokia, Finland-based Nokian Tyres P.L.C. opened its first factory in North America last year, in Dayton, Tenn., with the goal of shortening delivery lead times and tailoring the company's product mix to the needs of North American drivers.
