POMONA, Calif. — Wholesale Tire Distributors (WTD) is relocating its headquarters to a 300,000-sq.-ft. warehouse and office facility in Pomona, where it expects to have 700,000 tires in stock at any given time.
The move to the new facility, from Vernon, Calif., complements WTD's growth nationally. Last year it took over a 100,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Latrobe, Pa., and has established a satellite D/C in Kentucky.
The move to Pomona also coincides with an expansion of WTD's proprietary Arroyo and American Roadstar brands, according to Ara Tchaghlassian, WTD president and founder. The Vernon D/C will remain open for the time being, WTD said, until the new D/C is fully up to speed.
WTD has developed and is launching both run-flat and electric-vehicle-designated tires lines under the Arroyo Tires brand, part of an expansion of the brand to over 300 SKUs.
The Arroyo Runflat, which launches in multiple sizes, is designed to provide enhanced safety and peace of mind in the event of a puncture or pressure loss, WTD said.
The Arroyo EV tire prioritizes "outstanding" performance and durability in today's demanding EV landscape, WTD said, based on design features such as higher load ratings, advanced tread compounds and noise-reduction technology known as Arroyo's "SBIL" (sound-barrier inner lining).
Sizes and pricing were not disclosed.
At the same time, WTD has expanded Arroyo brand's truck/bus offering with additional sizes in 19-, 20-, 21- and 22-inch rim diameters. This expansion ensures that WTD customers have access to a wide range of sizes, catering to various vehicle types and preferences.
WTD did not specify whether the new sizes cover all wheel positions but stressed the brand serves the heavy-duty sector.
WTD launched the American Roadstar brand at the 2022 SEMA Show in las Vegas, as a complement to its Arroyo and Zestino proprietary brands. It sources the brand from unnamed manufacturers in Thailand.
The company, in business since 1999, projects that the combined sales of these brands will reach $200 million worldwide this year.
WTD also is a direct importer and exclusive distributor for the Mayrun-, Saffiro- and Winrun-brand tires and handles a wide range of name-brand tires as well.
The warehouse in Latrobe previously was operated by Import Export Tire Ltd.
