LOWELL, Mass. — VIP Tires & Service has opened its eighth retail store in Massachusetts, in Lowell in a former Goodyear Auto Service location.
To celebrate the Lowell store's grand opening, VIP is planning a ribbon-cutting event on Aug. 24.
The 9,300-sq.-ft. facility has eight service bays, can stock about 2,800 new tires and will be staffed with about a dozen employees.
Lowell, a city of 115,000 residents north of Boston, is a new market for the Auburn, Maine-based dealership.
This the second new retail location VIP Tires has opened in Massachusetts this year. Most recently it opened a store in Marshfield that previously operated as Marshfield Tire & Auto Service Center.
VIP Tires now has 69 locations throughout New England — 35 in Maine, 21 in New Hampshire and five in Vermont in addition to the eight in Massachusetts.
Each store is staffed with Automotive Service Excellence- (ASE) and Tire Industry Association (TIA)-certified automotive professionals seven days a week.
"Countless customers depend on VIP for tires and a wide range of services, and our recent store opening in Lowell further expands our presence in New England," VIP President and CEO Tim Winkeler said.
"One of VIP's top priorities is to become a key member of the Lowell community, and this is an important step in the right direction."
