BENNINGTON, Vt. — VIP Tires & Service has opened its fifth location in Vermont, a 5,760 sq.-ft. facility in Bennington that will have eight employees, including manager John Chapman.
VIP now operates 67 locations in the Northeast. Other stores in Vermont are located in Burlington, Shelburne, Williston and Rutland.
The store, which previously was a Hyundai car dealerships, sells tires in addition to offering a wide range of full automotive services including engine, diagnostics, maintenance, brakes, alignments and state inspections.
Bennington is located in Southeast Vermont, not far from Massachusetts. Its population is a little more than 15,000.
VIP completely renovated the interior of the facility,adding four bay doors to the front of the building and a new concrete floor in the repair shop. A new roof, parking lot, landscaping and restrooms also were added.
VIP President and CEO Tim Winkeler said Bennington was the perfect location for the dealership.
"After hearing great things about the area and visiting ourselves, we decided that Bennington would be ideal for our next VIP Tires & Service location," Winkeler said.
In October, VIP opened two stores, one in Seabrook, N.H., and another in Sanford, Maine.
