WALTON, Ky. — TravelCenters of America (TA) will open its 300th travel center location this week, a newly built store in Walton, a community of 5,000-plus residents located adjacent to I-71 between Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky.
The new 12,200-sq.-ft. building includes TA Truck Service and dining amenities including HWY Kitchen, KFC, and a store with hot and cold food and beverages.
TA said the opening is "a milestone in TA's strategic network growth plan which complements BP's existing convenience and mobility business to offer all guests a seamless nationwide experience, both along the interstate and off."
"Celebrating this achievement is very exciting for both our team members and guests, and we are committed to continued growth and innovation to provide an outstanding experience for all travelers who visit us," TA CEO Debi Boffa said.
"We look forward to welcoming guests into our newly rebuilt Walton travel center, which provides a welcoming, pleasant atmosphere with excellent amenities."
TA will hold a ribbon-cutting celebration at the Walton store Feb. 27. The company is donating $2,500 to the Freestore Foodbank, the largest emergency food and services provider to children and families in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana region.
The location will bring 100 jobs, TA said.
BP acquired TA in May 2023. The acquisition added about 290 sites to BP's U.S. network at the time. TA plans to open 20 new locations in 2024, as well add 1,600 new truck parking spaces; install biodiesel blending infrastructure and bp Pulse EV charging stations at select sites throughout the country; and enhance store layouts and add new benefits to its loyalty program.
TA also plans to upgrade its mobile maintenance and emergency roadside assistance vehicles to better serve its fleet customers and professional drivers.
