CINCINNATI — Tire Discounters opened four retail stores in recent weeks in Indiana and Kentucky, pushing the Cincinnati-based dealership's store network to 128 locations in six states.
These four openings — in Fishers, Greenwood and Whitestown, Ind., and Independence, Ky. — bring to 12 the number of stores opened in 2019. At 128 stores, Tire Discounters is considered the seventh largest independent tire retailer in the U.S.
The Indiana stores are all in the greater Indianapolis metro area, where Tire Discounters now has seven stores. The Kentucky store is 15 miles south of Cincinnati, the family-owned dealership's home market.
All of the new stores are in Tire Discounters' familiar eight- to 10-bay, open-plan format and offer full range of automotive services, including free alignment with standard installation on the purchase of four tires.
The dealership does not disclose its spending on store openings. New stores typically are staffed with 12 to 15 employees, Tire Discounters said earlier this year.
