CINCINNATI — Tire Discounters is expanding and rebranding its auto glass repair and replacement business from to Chip's Auto Glass — a reference to company founder Chip Wood — from Tire Discounters Auto Glass.

The family-owned dealership recently opened a Chip's Auto Glass location in Sharonville, Ohio, its third standalone auto glass point of sale. The other retail stores are in Cincinnati and Chamblee, Ga.

Additionally, Tire Discounters intends to start offering Chip's Auto Glass as a mobile service in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia, with appointments being made through Tire Discounters locations.

The new store sits on land adjacent to an existing Tire Discounters retail tire store in in Sharonville, a city of about 14,000 residents located 13 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. The company also has a warehouse distribution center in the city.

Chip Wood founded Tire Discounters in 1976 after graduating college. With nearly 200 locations in seven states and over 2,000 employees, Tire Discounters is considered the eighth largest independent tire dealership in the U.S., according to Tire Business research.

Tire Discounters branched into the auto glass sector in 2019, and "with the industry's explosive growth, we decided to rebrand the division and name it after our dad, Chip," according to Anna Wood, vice president and managing director at Tire Discounters and business leader of Chip's Auto Glass.

Chip's Auto Glass services include recalibrating vehicles' ADAS-associated cameras and sensors.

Tire Discounters also recently added a second complementary business, buying Carriage House Car Wash, a business with seven locations in the greater Cincinnati area.
