KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Pilot Travel Centers L.L.C. plans to expand its partnership with Southern Tire Mart in 2024 by adding truck maintenance services under the Southern Tire Mart banner at more than 30 Pilot Flying J truck stops across the country.
The initiative will grow the network of Southern Tire Mart at Pilot Flying J locations to over 85, Pilot Travel Centers said in a 2024 forecast of operations.
Columbia, Miss.-based Southern Tire Mart, the largest independent commercial tire dealership in North America, struck a deal in January 2021 with Pilot Travel to take over the management of truck care maintenance facilities at 35 Pilot Flying J locations, and pledged at that time to open as many as 100 more such facilities over time.
Southern Tire Mart at Pilot Flying J facilities are staffed with certified technicians and offer a range of standard truck and lube services, as well as retail and national account sales.
Knoxville-based Pilot Travel Centers plans to open 35 travel centers and remodel more than 75 locations across its network in 2024. The growth plan includes building 10 new travel centers and adding 25 dealer-operated locations.
Currently, Pilot Travel operates over 870 Pilot, Flying J and One9 locations in 44 states and six Canadian provinces.
