HOUSTON — Maxam Tire North America Inc. is opening a third warehouse distribution center (D/C) in the U.S., a 244,000-sq.-ft. facility in Houston, that it said will "strategically expand" its efficiency in meeting customers' needs with a multi-directional logistic approach.
Its other D/Cs are in Los Angeles and Memphis, Tenn.
"Houston, our third warehouse, will have one of the largest SKU assortments of any of our current warehouses, making it easier than ever for customers to receive products when they need them," Derick Efird, national distribution and logistics manager for Maxam, said.
"Houston is a rapidly expanding and efficient area with easy access to both major ports, interstates and rail systems."
With full operation scheduled to start at the end of March, Maxam said the warehouse will enable the company to better serve its dealers and customers logistically in all aspects.
Danvers. Mass.-based Maxam Tire North America is a business unit of China's Sailun Group focused on off-highway and specialty tires.
