OKLAHOMA CITY — Love's Travel Stops opened eight travel stops in recent weeks in six states, including four with Speedco truck maintenance services on site.
The new Travel Stops with Speedco services are in Patterson, Calif.; Morris and Normal, Ill.; and Louden, Tenn. The others are in Muscatine, Iowa; Lancaster, Ohio; Perry, Okla.; and Carthage, Texas.
The openings expand the Love's Travel Stop network to over 600 locations, including 435 that have Love's Truck Care or Speedco services on site.
The new travel stops offer a combined 580 truck parking spaces and add 660 jobs to the communities they're located in, Love's said.
The Speedco and Love's Truck Care locations offer tire, lube and light mechanical services, as well as DOT inspections. Most of the sites are open 24/7.
Since acquiring Speedco in 2017, Love's has added 100 Speedco-branded locations to its network. The total is nearly triple the number that existed in 2017 when Bridgestone Americas Inc. sold Speedco to Love's.
In honor of the grand openings, Love's is donating $2,000 to the nonprofits in the towns nearest to the locations: Carthage — Panola College; Loudon — Smoky Mountain Service Dogs; Lancaster — split between Meals on Wheels Fairfield County and Lancaster Fairfield County Charity Newsies; Morris — split between Morris Community High School and Morris City Hall; Muscatine — Muscatine Center for Social Action; Patterson — Patterson Unified School District; Normal — split between McLean County School District and Bloomington Area Career Center.
The Perry opening was Love's 600th store; in recognition of that milestone, Love's donated $15,000 to the Oklahoma Lions Service Foundation to make Lions Park in Perry more accessible to children of all abilities.
The combined Love's Truck Care and Speedco network offers over 1,500 service bays and 1,200 emergency roadside vehicles.
The Oklahoma City-based company carries seven brands of tires at its Love's Truck Care and Speedco outlets: Bridgestone, Continental, Double Coin, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin and Yokohama, along with retreads produced in-house by Love's own Oliver Rubber system retread network.
