BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has elected Gary MacCausland, senior vice president of operations and merchandising at VIP Tires & Service, to its Executive Committee during its recent mid-year board meeting.
MacCausland, who has served on the TIA Board for two years, was voted in as secretary. He officially will begin his term Nov. 4 during the TIA's board meeting in Las Vegas prior to the opening of the 2024 Global Tire Expo/SEMA Show.
As secretary, MacCausland will be in line to take over as TIA president in 2026-27.
MacCausland is a tire industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience in automotive and tire service centers, and he has held his current role at Lewiston, Maine-based VIP for 13 years.
In that role, he has prioritized customer and employee safety through training and education, TIA said. VIP Tires is an active participant in TIA's Online University and the Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Technician program.MacCausland has been a Certified ATS Instructor since 2017.
