MIAMI — Wholesale tire distributor Tire Group International (TGI) has hired Joe Rios as chief financial officer and promoted Enrique Hernandez to chief operating officer.
The appointments became effective in mid-April.
Rios has more than three decades of experience working in financial management and strategic planning, according to TGI. The wholesaler said he has a "proven track record of driving financial growth and optimizing operational efficiencies, making him an invaluable addition to the executive leadership team."
Rios, who replaces Craig Hankcock in the position, spent the last three years as the Southeast regional controller at Sciens Building Solutions. Prior to that, he was vice president, corporate controller at QEP Inc., joining that company in 2016.
Hernandez most recently worked as senior director of operations at TGI, where he has worked since 2010. He replaces Orland Delgado in the position.
As COO, he will be responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting, financial reporting and analysis, receivables, treasury and customs/tax compliance activities.
TGI lauded Hernandez's knowledge of supply chain management and "dedication to delivering outstanding customer service align perfectly with TGI's commitment to excellence."
TGI CEO Tony Gonzalez said the wholesaler is "thrilled" to have both in their positions.
"Their combined leadership experience and industry knowledge will undoubtedly strengthen TGI's position as a global leader in the tire distribution market," he said.
TGI said Rios and Hernandez will bring a "fresh perspective," positioning TGI for continued growth and expansion in both domestic and international markets.
