PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — TBC Corp. has named Marilyn Spunar as chief financial officer, replacing the retiring Scott Hurd.
Spunar, who has nearly three decades of experience in financial and strategic planning and implementation, will start her role on Oct. 1. She will oversee all of TB's financial operations, reporting directly to Don Byrd, TBC's president and CEO.
Spunar spent the last 26 years in various roles at the Carrier Corp., most recently as vice president, supply chain. Prior to that role, she was instrumental in creating an efficient financial planning and analysis (FP&A) department focused on growth and transparent reporting, according to TBC, as Carrier transitioned from part of the United Technologies conglomerate into Carrier as an independent company.
Spunar also previously worked as a chief financial officer at Carrier's refrigeration division and at Otis Americas.
Byrd said Spunar "brings a depth of experience that will contribute to our business, strategy and operations. TBC is in a transformative period, and as CFO, Marilyn will play a critical role in leading our continued growth and transformation."
Spunar has a master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
