TEQUESTA, Fla. — The Independent Tire Dealers Group L.L.C. (ITDG) has named longtime industry veteran Francisco Rivero as its director of programs and pricing.
Rivero will replace Sherry Bily, who will be retiring at the end of the year. In the interim, Bily will train Rivero to ensure a smooth transition.
Rivero, with more than 15 years of experience in the domestic and international tire industry, most recently was a wholesale manager for Fairfield, Calif.-based East Bay Tire Co., a fourth generation, family-owned tire wholesaler, exporter and commercial dealer with 15 locations across Arizona, California and Hawaii.
Prior to that, River spent more than a decade as a purchasing manager and general manager for Covencaucho L.T.D./Dobermann Tire/Tube and Solid Tire.
"My intention is to ensure that this position continues to elevate the value of the group as a whole," Rivero said.
Bily called worked for ITDG "a great experience, and I am truly grateful for the relationships I have developed over my 40-plus years in the tire industry,"
ITDG President and CEO Jason Rook, who succeeded the retired Dave Marks in February, said Bily's contributions "are undeniable and her accomplishments have set the tone for our vendor programming over the coming years.
"She will be greatly missed, although we are happy that she will have more time for family and travel after many years of service to the industry."
