EDMONTON, Alberta — Fountain Tire Ltd. has promoted three members of its executive team to newly created vice president posts as part of a corporate restructuring that the company said supports its strategic plan.
Dave Deley was promoted to senior vice president, stores; Jason Herle to senior vice president, marketing, information systems & supply chain; and Nelson Tonn to vice president, sales and mine service.
The appointments are effective immediately. All three will work out of Fountain Tire's corporate office in Edmonton.
"A key part of our strategic planning was to define Fountain Tire's core purpose, 'Helping people get there — safely, sustainably and successfully,' " CEO Brent Hesje said.
"We aim to live this purpose from the inside out, supporting our associates, our partners and our customers."
Mr. Deley will continue to lead operations of Fountain Tire's 160 stores across central and western Canada. According to Mr. Hesje, Mr. Deley's promotion reflects the important relationship between the company's corporate office and store managers, most of whom own 50% equity in their stores.
Fountain Tire said that with Deley's team providing operational coaching, store managers can remain focused on taking care of customers.
"Growing our company is not only about expansion, but also about developing our people, planning for succession and aligning our business to best meet our customers' needs," Mr. Hesje said.
Mr. Herle, a 25-year Fountain Tire veteran, has experience in several areas of the company, including real estate, operations and wholesale. He and his team will support Fountain Tire's wholesale division and mine services. Fountain Tire said his new role brings together areas of the business that impact customer experience into one comprehensive program.
Mr. Tonn joined Fountain Tire in 1998 and has led the company's marketing, supply chain, retread and corporate sales divisions. Previously, he served as vice president, sales. In his new he will be providing broader leadership to Fountain Tire's business-to-business teams, including corporate sales, mine service sales and operations, and off-the-road (OTR) operations. Mr. Tonn will be focused on building alignment among these teams and with Fountain Tire's stores.
