STAUNTON, Va. — Federated Auto Parts has picked longtime employee Sue Godschalk to succeed the retiring Larry Pavey as chief executive officer of the auto parts distribution company.
Godschalk, currently president, will assume the CEO role Jan. 1. Pavey is retiring after four years in that role.
During her 39-year career at Federated Auto Parts, Godschalk has held several management and financial roles of increasing responsibility, including office manager, assistant general manager, treasurer and vice president, before being named president in 2020.
"Federated has been on a path of sustained growth and my goal is to continue the successful strategies that have led us in such a positive direction," said Godschalk.

Pavey has been CEO of the Staunton-based company since 2020, and before that was president from 2006. Prior to that he was president of Dana Corp.'s Under Vehicle Group.
The Automotive Parts Services Group (APSG) is a joint partnership between the Federated Alliance and The Pronto Network and is made up of 300 member companies with over 5,000 locations and 80,000 employees primarily in North America.
